Carolyn Falcone

-

Stonington — Carolyn Falcone, 74, passed away due to complications from COVID-19 on Feb. 2, 2021, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital with family by her side. She was born May 17, 1946, in Norwich, the daughter of Ann and Anthony Vanchu.

Carolyn graduated Norwich Free Academy in the Class of 1964. She met the love of her life, Joseph “Joe” Falcone, and soon after graduating from NFA, became married to Joe in 1966. They eventually settled in Lisbon, where they resided until 1983. In 1983, they moved to Stonington and in 1989, Carolyn started her career at Pfizer. In 1999, she and Joe moved to Viera, Fla., to enjoy their retirement together. Their home in Florida became the vacation getaway for their kids and grandkids. Carolyn loved being surrounded by her family and friends and even took up golf to enjoy playing with her husband. Carolyn and Joe had celebrated 54 years of marriage in September 2020.

In addition to her husband Joe, Carolyn leaves behind her twin sons, Michael Falcone and Joseph “Jay” Falcone, their wives Beth Falcone and Dechy Falcone, and Carolyn’s two bonus children, David Ricker and Shari Falcone. She leaves behind many grandchildren: Liliana, Kevin, Lucas, Logan, Jeffrey, Jacob, Andrew, Ashley, David, Shane and Aaliyah, whom she loved “to infinity and beyond.” Carolyn also has two great-grandchildren, Gianna and Roman. She also leaves behind her younger brother, Anthony Vanchu, his husband, Seamus Kraham; and older sister Patricia Foeller. Besides her immediate family, Carolyn leaves behind her best friend since high school, Jeanne Hollister; along with many close friends and family, whom she always made time for and rarely missed a special occasion.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Church in Stonington sometime in May or, if necessary, later in the summer when we all can safely gather to celebrate this amazing woman’s life! The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the ICU staff at L+M hospital, and especially to our cousin Tammy, who checked in with her regularly.
