New London — Olga Enedina Torres, 73, of Broad St., New London, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, at the William W. Backus Hospital, Norwich. Olga was born in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Artemio and Maximina Torres Morales.

Olga was everyone’s grandmom; if she cooked for you, you became a member of her family. She was the foster mother for over 34 children and adopted family members to make sure they were taken care of. She was a communican­t of St. Mary’s Church in Norwich.

She is survived by her children: Amilly Rodriguez, Ismael Medina, Olga L. Medina, Jose L. Medina, Maria T. Torres, Sonia E. Torres, Maria E. Torres, Rosalyn S. Aybar, Jennifer Torres, Angel Leon, Marlene Perez, Jose L. Medina and Ismael Medina; brothers and sister, Artemio Torres, Edwin Torres and Anamirta Torres; 22 grandchild­ren and 13 great-grandchild­ren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Thursday, Feb. 18, at St. Mary’s Church, 70 Central Ave., Norwich. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Norwich. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to noon at the church. Masks are required and social distance rules need to be observed. Thomas L. The family has asked for donations to be sent to T.H.E. CHURCH, 207 Bank St., New London, CT 06320. It will go toward the Community Food Pantry being named after Olga, called “Olga’s Pantry.”
