OL girls win 3rd straight

— Sam Gray scored 18 points as Old Lyme won its third straight game with a 58-29 victory over Hale-Ray in a Shoreline Conference girls' basketball game on Saturday.

Emily DeRoehn had 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals, Emma McCulloch had 10 points, eight rebounds and two blocks, Megan Loflin had 10 points and three steals and Gray had six rebounds for the Wildcats (3-1).

In ther games:

• Anajah Ingram had 19 points and eight rebounds as second-ranked Norwich Free Academy remained unbeaten with a 59-42 victory over Stonington in an Eastern Connecticu­t Conference South Division game. Sarah Ericson added 17 points for the Wildcats (3-0), including three 3-pointers, while Jenissa Varela added 12 points. Sophia Bell scored 15 points for the Bears (1-2) and Cierra Bravar had 10.

• Fitch beat Montville 40-32 in the ECC South. Charlotte Carney had 12 points and Rita Sefransky scored 10 for Fitch (2-0). Grace Sanford scored 15 points and Maya Hillman had six points and 15 rebounds for Montville (0-2).

• Kieara Kirvan scored 17 points while Clare Inyang added 15 points and 12 rebounds to lift Ledyard to a 55-46 win over St. Bernard in the ECC South. Natalyah Williams added 13 points for the Colonels (1-2) while Sophia Boras and Angelica Tompkins scored 19 apiece for the Saints (0-3) while Olivia Massad had six points and 13 rebounds.

• Abigail St. Martin had 11 points and 17 rebounds, leading Putnam to a 37-21 win over Griswold in the ECC North. Abigail Wing had six rebounds and Bella Rubino, Kaylee Gagnon and Sonja Matheson had five rebounds each for Griswold (0-2).

• Ella Lach scored 12 points as Killingly defeated Lyman Memorial 6413 in the ECC North. Kassidy LaTour scored five points for the Bulldogs in their season opener.

• Vivianna St. Jean scored 11 points as Ellis Tech defeated Grasso Tech 40-22 in the CTC East on Wednesday. Sam Post scored 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, for Grasso Tech (0-3).

H.S. boys' fencing

• New London swept Ledyard, winning 7-2 in foil and 6-3 in epee. Chris Bell was 3-0 in foil for the Whalers, outscoring his opponents 15-5, and teammate Zachary Stock was 3-0 in epee while outscoring his opponents 15-7.

• Waterford and East Lyme split an ECC match, the Vikings winning 6-3 in foil and the Lancers winning 5-4 in epee. East Lyme's Nolan Deschenes was unbeaten in foil as was Waterford's Orrin Pierce in epee.

H.S. girls' fencing

• Ledyard beat New London 5-4 in foil. Madelyn Trout of Ledyard sealed the win with a 5-2 victory.

• Waterford swept East Lyme in the ECC, winning 9-0 in foil and 7-2 in epee. Liu Yang, Taylor Wininger and Danielle Nykyforchy­n went undefeated for the Lancers in foil as did Jenna Morin and Maple Siu in epee.

• NFA swept Bacon Academy in the ECC, winning 8-1 in foil and 7-2 in epee.

Men's basketball

• Max Lee, a freshman guard from Norwich and St. Bernard School, hits his first career 3-pointer — the game-winner with 16 seconds left in overtime — as Eastern Connecticu­t rallied from a 20-point deficit in the final eight minutes of regulation to defeat UMass Dartmouth 87-85 in a Little East game. Lee played 12 minutes off the bench, all in the second half, and added six steals for the Warriors (4-2, 2-2).
