Carol Piezzo
Westerly, R.I. — Carol (Mostad) Piezzo, 76, died peacefully at home Feb. 17, 2021. She was born in 1944, to the late Charlotte and Vernon Mostad. Growing up in Norwich, she graduated from Norwich Free Academy. She married Joseph T. Piezzo Jr. in 1967, and they resided in Westerly where they raised their family.
Carol was the proud co-owner and operator of Piezzo Construction with her husband for over 30 years. She was a dedicated communicant of the Church of St. Clare where she touched the lives of many of the parish’s children as the director of religious education. She also was honored to serve as a Eucharistic minister, a task she was devoted to.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Joseph Piezzo. She was predeceased by her brother Vernon Mostad; and her loving daughter Christine Piezzo. She also leaves behind her daughters, Suzanne Tamburro and husband Jim of South Windsor, and Jo-Ann Holmes and husband Patrick of Colchester.
Family meant everything to Carol. She had such a special gift of always bringing people together to celebrate accomplishments, big or small. Carol’s grandchildren were the light of her life and she loved them “a bushel and a peck.” Whether that be attending sporting events, concerts or school occasions, she brought her love and support to proudly cheer them on. Her grandchildren are Eliza and Latham Woodman; Joey and Jimmy Tamburro; and Hannah and Jack Holmes. Carol will always be remembered for her soft blue eyes, her kindness toward everyone she met and her fantastic cooking.
The family wishes to extend special gratitude to Jodi and Kelly, two angels whom she loved like family, for their amazing care.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at St. Clare Church, 62 Crandall Ave., Misquamicut. The burial is private. There will be no visiting hours.
