— Glenda Sue (Cannon) Niantic Olsson of Niantic passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones, Feb. 19, 2021. Glenda was born April 27, 1943, in Baton Rouge, La. She was the daughter of Cleve Cannon and Viola (Norman) Cannon, and one of twelve siblings: Billy, Sam, Margaret, James, Harvey, Paul, Bobby, Joe, David, Steve and Cheryl.

As a young girl, Glenda and her family moved from the bayous of Louisiana to the Mojave Desert in California, where she and her siblings learned what was most important in life ...... family.

Glenda is survived by her husband of 47 years, Karl Olsson; her children, Craig Tomlin and his wife, Mary, of Hamden, Stephanie Brungard of Waterford, and David Olsson and his wife, Jennifer, of Waterford; and her grandchild­ren, Matthew and Ryan Tomlin, Madelyn Brungard, and Kira Olsson.

Glenda was a one-of-a-kind mother, daughter and wife. Her generous, caring and graceful soul always put loved ones first before herself. Her front door and back porch were always open for coffee and a visit. These coffee visits have been a staple for many generation­s of family, friends, and neighbors over the past 47 years. With her gentle, kind and wise demeanor, Glenda Sue impacted and guided many lives that have crossed her path. She will truly be missed, not only by her family, but also by those who have been touched by her unwavering and unconditio­nal love of life and family.
