MASHANTUCKETS, PEQUOT HEALTH CARE RECOGNIZE GASTROENTEROLOGY PRACTICE AS PREFERRED PARTNER

-

Mashantucket — The Mashantucket Pequot Tribe and Pequot Health Care, a Mashantucket-owned health care management company serving Native American tribes, announced it is recognizing Connecticut GI, a Rocky Hill-based gastroenterology practice, as a preferred partner.

Pequot Health Care will promote awareness of Connecticut GI’s services to its members and commercial self-funded plans.

“At Pequot Health Care, we believe that both the patients and the employers that provide self-funded health benefits deserve better value health where the quality, safety, and experience is higher, and the total cost of care is lower,” Dr. Setu Vora, the Mashantuckets’ chief medical officer, said in a statement.

Connecticut GI care centers are located in Bloomfield, Bristol, Enfield, Farmington, Glastonbury, Hartford, Meriden, New Britain, Norwich, Putnam, Sharon, Southington, South Windsor, Torrington, Wallingford and Waterford. As a preferred partner, Connecticut GI will offer a full spectrum of gastrointestinal care, including but not limited to preventative services such as colorectal cancer screening and Hepatitis C testing, and provide care aimed at improving the overall health and well-being of tribal members and Pequot Health Care health plan members.

Pequot Health Care has formed the Independent Medical Practices Alliance of Connecticut, or IMPACT, which is focused on providing high-value care in community settings where care is less expensive.
