Gada sparks East Lyme past St. Bernard in boys' basketball

— Marshall Gada scored East Lyme a game-high 29 points with five rebounds and three assists as East Lyme beat St. Bernard on Friday, 6557, in an Eastern Connecticu­t Conference South Division boys' basketball game.

Matt Valakos had 11 points, nine rebounds and three assists for East Lyme (4-1).

Walker Baillargeo­n scored 22, Frank Pacheco had 12 points and Cedrick Similien scored 10 for the Saints (2-2).

In other games:

• Tayeshawn Cunningham-Pemberton had 24 points, 11 rebounds, six steals and five assists as New London trounced Montville, 102-50, in an ECC South Division game. Rhodia Perry made five 3-pointers and scored 27 for New London (3-2), which led 5428 at halftime.

Joe Bonhomme added 14 points, five assists and four steals and Sean Raymond had eight points and 10 rebounds. Armanee Davis scored 15, Isaiah Gallagher 13 and Chas Terni 11 for the Indians (1-4).

• Trevor D'Amico (21 points) was one of four Waterford players to score in double figures in a 77-59 win over Ledyard in an ECC South Division game. Sean O'Connell had 18 points and five rebounds, Logan Peabody scored 12 and Sam Menders had 11 points, six rebounds and three assists for Waterford (4-1). Also, Will Sutman had five rebounds and D'Amico three assists. Lebron Maurice scored 20 for the Colonels (1-3) and Austin Chapman had 10 points.

• Senior James Anderson scored 20 of his career-high 28 points in the first half as Bacon Academy beat Stonington, 60-50, in an ECC South Division game. Luke Grimord scored 14 for Bacon (2-3). Dorian White scored 19 for the Bears (0-4).

Girls

• Jayden Burns scored 22 as New London topped Montville, 56-34, in an ECC South Division game. Nalyce Dudely scored 18 for New London (22). Maya Hillman had 14 points and 17 rebounds for the Indians (0-3) and Grace Sanford had seven points and blocks.

• Angelica Tompkins scored 16 points to lead St. Bernard to a 31-26 win over East Lyme in an ECC South Division game. Sophia Boras scored nine, Olivia Massad had 13 rebounds and Tompkins was 6-for-6 from the foul line in the fourth quarter for the Saints (1-4). Sache Vora scored 13 points for East Lyme (0-2).

• Milena Walker had 16 points and Lily Kramer scored 12 as Waterford edged Ledyard, 38-34, in an ECC South Division game. Waterford is 3-1. Clare Inyang had nine points and 13 rebounds, Natalyah Williams scored 12 and Kieara Kirvan scored nine for the Colonels (1-4).

• Abby St. Martin scored 18 to pace Putnam past Lyman Memorial, 49-25, in an ECC South Division game. Alex Hutchins had 13 points for Putnam (21). Kassidy LaTour had seven points for the Bulldogs (1-3) and Kate Anderson and Kasey Cook both scored six.
