William Livingston IV

-

Newington — William “Bill” Livingston IV, 44, of Newington passed away Monday, surrounded by his family after a courageous two-year battle with Glioblastoma. Born in New London, Bill grew up in the Ledyard area and had lived in the New Britain/Newington area for over 20 years.

A graduate of Ledyard High School, Class of 1995, he received his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and his master’s in Special Education from Central Connecticut State University. Bill worked at and became a teacher of special education at CREC — River Street Autism Program at the Birken Campus in Bloomfield, and was there for more than 15 years. He had a patient, gentle way of connecting with even the most challenging students. He loved his students, his job and his Birken family fiercely. Bill also loved the Red Sox, New York Giants football, the UConn Huskies, and golfing with his buddies. No love was greater though than that for his family and especially his children, Addy and Alina. He truly enjoyed coaching both their softball and tee ball teams.

Besides his wife Sarah, he leaves his daughters, Adeline and Alina Livingston; his parents, William Robert Livingston III and his stepmother Pam Livingston of Groton; his mother, Linda (Farrar) Pendleton of Ledyard; his twin brother Sean Livingston and his wife Nicole of Montville; his brother Erik Pendleton of Ledyard; two nephews, Jared and Bryce; and a niece Kayla Livingston. He is also survived by many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who supported him throughout his life and during his illness.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on April 11, 2021, at The Rockledge Grille, 289 S. Main St., West Hartford.
