— Rosemary North Stonington A. Rendeiro, 62, a resident of North Stonington since 1985, died unexpected­ly Monday, March 22, 2021.

Born in New London, she was the daughter of the late Patricia Ann (Antognoli) Rendeiro and Joseph F. Rendeiro of Stonington and his companion, Theresa Truss of Ledyard.

She attended local schools, was a graduate of Stonington High School and was an allaround athlete, especially excelling in softball and tennis.

Following high school, she attended Central Connecticu­t State University, earning her bachelor’s degree in Teaching.

After college, Rosemary would spend the next forty years with Electric Boat in the Security Department, where she currently worked second shift.

Rosemary’s true passion was being outdoors, whether it would be fishing for bass or striper, horseback riding, tending to her Belgian Warmblood and her gardens. She was also the first woman member and a life member of the Groton Sportsmen’s Club in Stonington.

In addition to her father, she leaves her three uncles, Gino Rendeiro of Westerly, R.I., Nuno Rendeiro of Dallas, Ga., and Gerard Antognoli of Voluntown; and numerous cousins.

Her family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Yale New Haven Hospital for all the care, support and assistance given to Rosemary through the years in managing her diabetes. Please consider a donation in her memory to the American Diabetes Assoc.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, at St. Mary Cemetery on Route 1 in Stonington.

There are no calling hours for Rosemary.

The Mystic Funeral Home is handling her arrangemen­ts.
