Eileen Kane

Uncasville — Eileen S. Kane, 90, formerly of Uncasville, died Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Beechwood Rehabilitation and Care Center in New London.

She was born in Montville on July 30, 1930, the daughter of Frank Merriman and Mary Kruszewski Tyrseck. She married Edward Kane on July 22, 1950, and he died March 17, 2005. Mrs. Kane was a member of the New London Emblem Club; American Legion Auxiliary #9; The VFW Auxiliary; Montville Seniors; Railroad Transportation Union Ladies Auxiliary. She graduated from the Palmer School in Montville and the former Williams Memorial Institute in New London.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Beebe of Uncasville; sister Claire Peck of Uncasville; grandson, Brian Beebe of Nebraska; along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Patrick Kane; and a sister, Stella Genaros.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Avenue, New London. COVID-19 protocols will be observed.

Mrs. Kane’s family would like to thank the staff of Beechwood for their kindness and care during her stay there. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests making a donation in her name to Beechwood Rehabilitation and Care Center, C/O Amy Yeomans, 31 Vauxhall Street, New London, CT, 06320. The funds collected will be used for planting roses on the grounds of Beechwood for the enjoyment of the residents there.
