Mystic — Judith Berdina Mystic (Shrapnel) Scott of passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at Fairview in Groton.

She was born to the late Peter and Geneva Shrapnel, a civil engineer and homemaker, in Balboa, Panama, May 23, 1942. She graduated from Pasadena High School in 1960, and married Christopher Patrick Scott, a U.S. Navy enlisted man, with whom she had three amazing sons. She raised those boys, largely by herself, with love, patience, and endless encouragement.

“Judi” was an exceptionally generous and thoughtful friend who met her ultimate partner in life, Kent Moshier, in 1988 in Mystic. They were truly soul mates, having spent the last 33 years together indulging their shared passion for music, art, travel, sports, automobiles, wildlife and each other.

She worked as a Realtor in Southeastern Connecticut for 42 years. Beloved by her colleagues and friends, she approached everything in life with optimism, kindness and joy, never having a bad word to say about anyone throughout her life, as she always tried to see the very best in people.

She will be dearly missed by all of those she loved and those who loved her.

Judi is survived by her partner and the love of her life, Kent; her three sons, Keith, Kevin and Kenneth; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Scott; her three beautiful grandchildren, Hannah, Molly and Beckett; and many dear and beloved friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 19, at the Elm Grove Cemetery Route 27 Mystic.

In lieu of flowers, her family is requesting that donations be made to the World Wildlife Fund (www.worldwildlife.org) in her memory.

The Mystic Funeral Home is handling Judi’s arrangements.
