Mooney wins four events as Stonington boys beat EL to remain perfect

Stonington — Josh Mooney won four events to lead unbeaten Stonington to a 94-56 win over East Lyme in an Eastern Connecticu­t Conference Division I boys' track and field meet on Wednesday

Mooney won 100-meter dash (11.0), 200 (22.8), 110 hurdles (15.1) and javelin (150 feet, 3 inches) for the Bears (4-0, 3-0), while Luke Costanzo won the shot put (39-10.5) and discus (110-5).

They also also received wins from Ryan Orr (800, 2:10.3), Ryan Gruczka (3,200, 10:24.8), Chris Mooney (300 hurdles, 45.5), Phoenix Glaza (long jump, 17-11), and the 4x100 team of Lucien Tedeschi, Burton Corley, James Furtado and Ryan Turner (46.8).

Nick Vogel won the high jump (5-6) and pole vault (9-0) for the Vikings (3-2, 2-2) while Noam Sokolovsky won the 400 (54.1), Luke Anthony the 1,600 (4:29.9) and Lucas DeNucci the triple jump (35-4).

In other meets:

• Jordan Ribeiro won both the shot put (49-3.5) and discus (122-7) and Zach Cotner won the long jump (20-10.75) and pole vault (12-6) for unbeaten Norwich Free Academy in its 109-41 win over Waterford in an ECC Division I meet. The Wildcats (50, 3-0) also received wins from Aldon Dawson (100, 11.2), Jeremiah Paul (400, 53.9), Glendon Dawson (300 hurdles, 44.4), Ethan Manfredi (800, 2:15.3), Grover Boone (200, 23.6), Joe Klick (javelin) and Maxon Pierre Louis (high jump, 6-4). Sean Corman won the 1,600 (4:57.8) and 3,200 (10:01) for the Lancers (1-4, 0-3) while Nolan Gollsneide­r won the 110 hurdles (18.8) and Sam Menders won the triple jump (42-3.75).

• Connor Wilcox (1,600, 3,200) and Peyton Adams (high jump, long jump) were double winners for Bacon Academy as it beat New London 93-52 in an ECC Division II meet and Montville, 134-13, in an interdivis­ional meet. Bacon is 5-2, 3-1. Marquise

Whyte won both the 110 hurdles and 800 for New London (2-5, 0-4) and Ali Harkness won the 100 and 400. Kanye McClellan won the triple jump for the Indians (1-7).

• Dylan Lucey won the 110 hurdles (16.58), 300 hurdles (44.8) and high jump (5-8) as Lyman Memorial won 16 of 18 events in its 125-25 win over St. Bernard in an ECC Division III meet. Nick Barrett won the 100 (11.3) and 200 (23.8) Justin Thuotte won the long jump (20-0.5) and triple jump (41-6.75), and Shane Franson won the 3,200 (11:04) and pole vault (9-6) for Lyman (3-2-1, 3-0-1). Also, Maxwell Hussey won the 400 (55.2), Grayson Lemay won the 800 (2:26) for the Bulldogs. Eamon McMahon, Grayson Lemay, Hussey and Franson won the 4x800 (9:18) for Lyman, and Greg Toussaint, Grayson LeMay, Hussey and McMahon won the 4x400 (4:01). Colin Britner won the 1,600 (5:05) for the Saints (2-2, 2-1).

Girls

• Sam Kuruchi won the long jump (14-9) and triple jump (31-0) and teamed with Angelique Dinoto, Kiera MacCracken and Kylah Bilheimer to win the 4x100 as Montville beat both Bacon Academy (79.5-62.5) and New London (77-45).

Katelyn Plikus won the 100 hurdles (17.2) and 300 hurdles (50.3) and Kelsey Chiasson won the shot put (30-3) and discus (72-0) for Montville (7-1). Jordan Malloy won the 1,600 (5:24) and 800 (2:31) for Bacon (4-3, 3-1), which beat New London 67-62 in an ECC Division II meet. Annisah White won the 100 (13.8) for the Whalers (0-7, 0-4) and teamed with Daisha Thomas, Kmara Royster and Akheena Parcak to win the 4x400 (4:19.9).

• NFA had three athletes win multiple events in its 120-29 win over Waterford in an ECC Division I meet. Jasmyn Bransford won the 100 (12.8), 200 (26.7) and long jump (160.75), Gillian Cameron won the 1,600 (6:10.6) and 3,200 (16:03) and Hannah Graham won the shot put (29-5) and discus (100-10) for NFA (3-2, 3-1).

Katie Lange won the javelin (81-9) for the Lancers (1-3-1, 0-2-1) and Colleen Corman tied Car Hursey for first in the 100 hurdles (19.1).

• Nadia Helme won the 100 (13.0), long jump (16-2) and triple jump (332) as Ledyard won every event in its 116-32 victory over Fitch in an ECC Division I meet. Natalie Poulton won the shot put (31-5) and discus (97-11) for Ledyard (3-3, 1-3) and Ciara May McGrath won the high jump (4-4) and 3,200 (14:43). The Falcons are 0-4-1, 0-3-1).

• Leah Comeroski won the 100 (12.82), 200 (27.26) and long jump (15-9) as Lyman Memorial downed St. Bernard, 108-41, in an ECC Division III meet.

Kasey Cook won the 100 hurdles (19.51) and 300 hurdles (56.34) for Lyman (5-1, 4-0) and Kristen Goodrich won the triple jump (34-7.75) and high jump (4-10). Serena Britner won the 1,600 (5:45.27) and 3,200 (12:45.01) for the Saints (2-2, 1-2) and Lindsey Reilly won the shot put (282.5) and discus (72-6).
