BORIS GETS REPUBLICAN ENDORSEMENT FOR 41ST HOUSE

Robert Boris, a Groton resident and the president of Groton-based Command Technology, announced in a news release Tuesday that he was unanimously endorsed by Republicans for the 41st House District seat.

“The residents I’ve spoken to want educational opportunities that align with an ecologically sustainable future,” he said in a statement. “They want their tax dollars invested transparently — on infrastructure and services that benefit our community, preserve its unique character and generate long term, sustainable growth. They understand that our economy has been revolutionized via digitalization — from the production supply chain to the modernization of work — and thus require a leader with the experience, perspective, and ability to represent their voice appropriately.”

“I’m proud to service our community in this regard: The bi-partisan support and speed at which we’ve qualified for the Citizens’ Election Program has been nothing short of inspiring,” he added.

Boris serves on the City of Groton Planning and Zoning Commission, Groton Economic Development Commission, Groton Open Space Association and three Chambers of Commerce, according to the release.

The endorsement convention was held Tuesday evening in Olde Mistick Village. The 41st District will cover parts of Groton and Stonington with the redrawing of boundaries.

State Rep. Joe de la Cruz, D-Groton, previously announced he would not be seeking reelection to the seat. Democrat Aundré Bumgardner was endorsed by Democrats last week for the seat.
