Bacon boys beat Ledyard to finish unbeaten in ECC Div. II play

Colchester — Jack Holmes had three goals and five assists as Bacon Academy downed the Ledyard/Griswold co-op 16-1 on Thursday in an Eastern Connecticu­t Conference Division II boys' lacrosse game.

Tyler Daniels had two goals and three assists, Sam Blumberger had three goals and an assist and Gavin

Emmons had three goals for the Bobcats (10-5, 8-0). Also, Ethan LoVetere had two goals and an assist, Jameson Pirro scored twice and Brett Guntulis scored.

Cam Reynolds scored for the Colonels (2-13, 1-7).

In other games:

• Masson Bussman scored his lone goal in overtime to give Old Lyme a 7-6 win over Haddam-Killingwor­th a Shoreline Conference game. Nick Cox had two goals and two assists, Brendan O'Brien had two goals and Macklin Cushman and Kian Kardestunc­er both scored for the Wildcats (8-7, 8-4). Joseph Montazella added seven saves and Sam Mullaney had an assist.

• Cam Riley had three goals and four assists and Cam Gouveia had two goals and five assists for the St. Bernard/Wheeler co-op in its 20-8 win over Montville in an ECC Division II game. Jackson Brenek had four goals and two assists, Charlie Niles had three goals and an assist, Kalvin Zachhuber had two goals and two assists and Ben Howes scored twice for St. Bernard/Wheeler (5-9, 4-4). Also, Johannes Zachhuber had 15 saves and Marc Sauchuk scored. Chris Baukus had four goals, Colby Cowan had two goals and Josh Johnson and Jacob Watson scored for Montville (2-13, 1-7).

Girls

• Dani Bruno had four goals and two assists and Abigail Belleville and Sydney Sager each scored three times in East Lyme's 15-5 win over Stonington. Meg Nagle had two goals and an assist, Alanna Benoit scored twice and Penelope Lawlor scored for the Vikings (12-4). Also, Greta Schwartz and Meredith Healy each had an assist and Giana Franco added four saves. Emma Logel and Emma Spathakis both had two goals and Gabriella Dimock scored for the Bears (12-4).

• Maddox Burton had six goals and two assists and Sarah Newtown added two goals and six assists in Bacon Academy's 20-10 win over Ledyard. Skylar Gustavsen had five goals and two assists, Neely Hart had two goals and an assist, Katie Graham and Anna LeGault both scored twice and Joely Stella added a goal for the Bobcats (11-5).

Maddie McLeod had five goals, Helen Robinson had three goals and Brooke Beckwith and Jess English both scored for the Colonels (5-10-1).

• Lily Tomczik had five goals and an assist for Montville in its 14-3 win over St. Bernard. Reagan Buscetto had two goals and two assists, Maddie Koning and Grace Sanford both had three goals, Sadie Decoster scored and Katie Koning added 10 saves for Montville (8-8). Chloe Jennings had two goals and Olivia Mayorga scored for the Saints (3-10).

• Rita Sefransky had three goals and two assists and Bridget O'Leary added five assists as Fitch downed Woodstock Academy, 14-1. Nora Casey had three goals and an assist, Sophia Clang and Madison Corbiel each scored twice, Stella Connell had a goal and an assist and Elaina Brookhart had eight saves for the Falcons (9-6).

• Emily Gates had six goals and two assists as Waterford outlasted Norwich Free Academy 15-10. Madison Gates added three goals for the Lancers (10-5-1) while Madison LaForte scored twice, Payton Smith had two assists and goalie Ilyanna Rivera made 10 saves.

Lauren Friedrich and Alice-Ann Rourke each had three goals and one assist for the Wildcats (7-9) while Molly Page scored twice.

• Haddam-Killingwor­th beat Old Lyme 15-7 in the Shoreline Conference. Ella Curtiss-Reardon, Sydney Goulding and Emily Mesham all scored twice for Old Lyme (4-12, 3-9) and Grace Arnold, Caroline Crolius and Bella Orlando each had a goal. Kylie Dishaw also made seven saves.
