Marie V. Mach

Colchester — Marie Violetta (Lavallee) Mach, 98, formerly of Jewett City and Oakdale, died Wednesday, Dec. 7,

2022, at Complete Care at Harrington Court in Colchester. She was the loving wife of Alexander J. Mach, who predeceased her in 2006. Born in Feb. 22, 1924, in Woodstock, she was the daughter of the Rogatien and Aurore (Parent) Lavallee.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Nancy A. Moore of Oakdale; grandchildren, Michael (Luisa) Moore of Kingman, Ariz., and Kristen (Craig) Brackett; great-grandchildren, Baylee, Brooke and Blake; and great-great-grandson, Cayson of Waterford. She also leaves her nieces and nephew, Karen Messina, Elaine Lavallee, June (John) Downs, Donna (Dennis) Coleman, Donald (Lynn) Lavallee, Lori (John) Burke and Lisa (Joe) Burdick; and numerous great-nieces and nephews, whose birthdays she always remembered. Also, surviving are her aunt, Theresa Parent; and special cousin, Lucille (Bob) Bernier. Besides her husband and parents, Marie was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Donatien and Ida Lavallee and son-inlaw, Ronald H. Moore.

Marie was brought up in Wauregan and graduated from Plainfield High School. After marriage, she lived for almost 60 years in Jewett City, where she worked as a shipping clerk for Jaycees. In 2006. Marie and Alex moved to Liberty Road in Oakdale. Marie will be remembered as a person with strong faith, who believed in the power of prayer. She was a very unselfish, caring individual who will be missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Marie’s family from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2022, at the Griswold Funeral Home & Crematory, 30 North Main
