TWO KILLED IN WATERFORD CRASH WERE FROM COLORADO

- — Kevin Arnold

Waterford — Police have identified the two Colorado men who died in a crash on Cross Road early Saturday, and a third man who suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they found a red Subaru Legacy off the roadway and resting on a stone wall in the area of Cross and Foster roads at 5:28 a.m.

All three were taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital where the driver, Robert Sewell, 21, of Bloomfield, Colo., was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. His two passengers, Dylan Richey, 24, of Monument, Colo. and Bramm Miller, 23, of Colorado Springs, Colo. were pronounced dead.

Lauren Laughlin, a spokesperson for the Naval Submarine School, said Monday that Miller was a seaman who was attending the school. Sewell is also a student at the school. She said Richey was not affiliated with the Navy. A Go Fund me page for Richey’s family said he was visiting a friend in Connecticut.

Police said the preliminary investigation, conducted by the Shoreline Traffic Reconstruction Team, found that Sewell lost control of the car at 5:28 a.m. while driving northbound on Cross Road near the intersection of Foster Road. The car left the roadway on the western portion of Cross Road and continued through the parking lot of 140 Cross Road, Constitution Surgery Center, before coming to a stop against a rock wall.

Police ask anyone with information to call the Waterford Police Department at (860) 442-9451, or the anonymous tip line at (860) 447-8080. Laughlin said the Navy is assisting police in the investigation.
