Toby Lawrenclle-Knowles

Niantic — Toby J. Lawrenclle-Knowles, 58, of Niantic, loving wife of Glenn (m 2003) and mother of Ryan and Brad; sister of Tracy Telford; (and proud momma to Wiggins the Whoodle), was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Buddy Wills of North Stonington. Toby passed peacefully at home with her family Feb. 22, 2023.

Toby’s personality was a bright light on this earth that people were drawn to. Once they met her, they quickly found her to be a truly amazing, spectacular and kind person, and one who always added a little spunk to make things interesting. She loved to teach children to read; she loved dogs; and she loved the simpler things in life. Many children in the Dr. Charles E. Murphy School in Montville were touched by her desire to help them and make them feel special while learning to read. There was not a walk anywhere that Toby would not stop to pet an approaching dog, ask its name and say, “What a cutie.” Toby enjoyed her mornings — waking up in bed with a cup of coffee and looking out at Niantic Bay, and being at her favorite spot on south beach pier with her Kindle, soaking up the sun.

Her proudest accomplishments in her life were her two children, Ryan and Brad. She put every ounce of energy into making them the fine men they are today.
