Reading on Tap takes place Wednesday

Local notables will do readings during “Reading on Tap” starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Bank & Bridge Brewing, 54 West Main St., Mystic.

This event will benefit the Mystic & Noank Library. Tickets to attend are $20, and all sales benefit the library. Purchase tickets through the library’s website. The schedule is:

6:10 p.m.: Lisa Starr, former Poet Laureate of RI, leader of the Arts Café

6:20: Steven Slosberg, columnist for the Westerly Sun, will read from his 2021 essay collection, “Columnist: 45 Years of Having a Say.”

6:30: Lara Ehrlich, founder of Thought Fox Writers Den and author of “Animal Wife”

6:40: Bruce Jones, artist, traveler, and member of the Groton Town Council

6:50: Max Finnance, holder of the only Master Cicerone Certificat­ion in New England, recognizin­g an exceptiona­l understand­ing of brewing, beer, and pairing

7: Alex Masse, director of operations & business intelligen­ce at Chelsea Groton Bank

7:10: Juliette Parker, poetry lover and member of the Groton Town Council

7:20: Kevin Booker Jr., of Booker Enterprise­s and the Mitchell College faculty, will read from “Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls” by Elena Favilli et al.

7:30: Juan Melendez, mayor of the Town of Groton

7:40: Bruce Flax, president of the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce, will read a poem by Shel Silverstei­n.

7:50: Judy Benson, University of CT Avery Point faculty member, will read from her own book of essays.

8: Dan Pearson, director of admissions at Hampshire College, will read a short excerpt from his story “Please Please Let the Captain Speak,” one in a series of stories set in a fictionali­zed Mystic and Noank.
