— Beach, Fla. Marjorie Rose Chisholm, 89, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, March 5, 2023, after a long and happy life.

Marji was born at home in Sandyfield, N.Y., to Frederick and Sarah Rose on April 17, 1933, and is survived by her husband, Alexander B. Chisholm; her daughter and spouse, Sandra and Amin Saad, her son and spouse Alex and Denise Chisholm; and five grandchildren Kaitlyn, Christian, Ashley, Allison, and Eli.

Marji was the younger of two daughters and grew up in her beloved Stony Point. She graduated from Haverstraw High School in New York and was awarded a full art scholarship to the prestigious Pratt Institute in Manhattan.

Opting instead to stay close to home and to her family, Marji worked as executive secretary for the Garnerville Holding Co. and married the love of her life, Alexander B. Chisholm, on Dec. 4, 1954.

Active in her church, PTA and community, Marji brought joy and sunshine to everything, and everyone, she touched. Generous and very kind, she was adored by her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and aunt, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.

Her family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 11 at the Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, 406 S. Orange St., New Smyrna Beach, Fla. The funeral service will be held at the onsite chapel at 10:30 a.m., followed by the committal ceremony at 11:30 a.m. at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens in Edgewater, Fla.

Condolences and flowers can be sent in care of Settle-Wilder Funeral Home in New Smyrna Beach.
