Noank — Victor Paul Dufault, 82, of Noank, passed away Aug. 17, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Paula K. Dufault (Moran), who passed away in 2021. Victor was born in Worcester, Mass., and the son of the late Roland and Mary Dufault (Dudko).

He attended local schools in Massachuse­tts and held a master’s degree in engineerin­g from Worcester Polytechni­c Institute. Victor served in the United States Navy, where he was a lieutenant and crew member of the USS Triton and USS Nautilus. After leaving the Navy with an honorable discharge, he joined Pfizer in Groton, where he was an engineer until retiring in 1998.

Victor greatly enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling with Paula, and spending quality time with family. He was very generous with his time, being a literacy volunteer for co-workers and at the York Correction­al Institutio­n, as well as a volunteer at the Denison Pequotsepo­s Nature Center. Victor donated regularly to several animal, military, religious and social charities. Victor and Paula were faithful members of the St. Mary, Mother of the Redeemer parish in Groton.

Victor leaves behind his son Michael, daughter-in-law Julie and granddaugh­ter Ava, all in Pittsburgh, Pa. Victor is also survived by his niece Carolyn L. Dufault (Padilla) of St. Louis, Mo.; brother-in-law Daniel and sister-in-law Janet of North Brookfield, Mass.; niece Hannah of Weston, Mass.; and nephew Tanner of Houston, Texas.

Funeral services will be held privately at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Mystic. The Mystic Funeral Home is handling Victor’s arrangemen­ts. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity.
