Norwich — John Christophe­r Gould, 58, of Huntington Avenue, passed away Jan. 13, 2024, at Backus Hospital. John was born May 8, 1965, in New London, the son of Robert Gould and the late Francine (Sirugo) Gould.

John was a graduate of Lyman Memorial High School and had previously worked as a machinist at Pratt and Whitney. Most recently, he worked as the sales manager at Treat’s Pools and Spas until his illness forced him to take a step back from working.

John was a lifetime member of the East Great Plain Volunteer Fire Department, previously serving as the assistant chief. He was also a member of the Bozrah Moose Lodge.

He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR fan and loved to watch races at the Waterford Speed Bowl and Thompson Motor Speedway. He loved to hunt and fish with his dog Jack.

John is survived by his father, Robert Gould; his children, Justin Gould and his fiancée, Tina Francis, and their daughter Mia; Katherine Gould and her son Javier; and Allison Hinckley and her husband Nicholas; by his siblings, Glenn Gould, Robert Fusco, Richard Fusco, Angela Moore, and James Stavrinos. He was loved by many and will be remembered by his friends as a man with an infectious smile and quick wit. In addition to his mother Francine, John was predecease­d by his sister Diane Fusco.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, at the Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich. A celebratio­n of John’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024, at the Church and Allen Funeral Home. Burial will follow at New Lebanon Cemetery on Waterman Road in Lebanon.
