ADOBE EXTENDS ITS POLICY ON PARENTAL LEAVE
new york» Adobe is the latest tech company to extend its paid parental leave policy after Netflix said it would offer corporate employees up to a year of paid leave to care for new babies.
Adobe Systems Inc. said Monday it will offer parents who are the primary caregivers 16 weeks of paid leave after the birth or adoption of a child. That’s in addition to 10 weeks of paid medical leave following childbirth, so a new mother could take a total of 26 weeks off — up from the current nine weeks.
Live Nation’s revenue rises. Concert promoter
Live Nation Entertainment Inc. reported better-thanexpected revenue and improved sales for the second quarter, sending shares up in after-hours trading. The company’s shares climbed 2.9 percent to $26.50 in after-hours trading.
In its concert business, Live Nation has sold about 75 percent of its projected tickets for the year, and sales through July are 7 percent ahead of last year’s rate.
Dean Foods falls after CEO resignation.
Dean Foods Co., the largest U.S. milk processor, fell after the company declined to offer an explanation for the sudden resignation of chairman Tom C. Davis.
The company said in a securities filing late Friday that Davis resigned with immediate effect. Dean dropped 2.9 percent to $17.21 at the close in New York. The shares earlier slid 18 percent, the most since November 2010.

agreed to pay Inovio Pharmaceuticals Inc. as much as $727.5 million for rights to an experimental cancer vaccine, its third deal in a week to secure access to new tumor-fighting drugs.
AstraZeneca’s Medimmune unit will pay Plymouth Meeting, Pa.-based Inovio $27.5 million up front and as much as $700 million if its medicine, which targets cancers caused by the human papillomavirus, reaches certain development and commercial milestones.
CVS to pay $450,000 to settle dispute B
providence, r.i.» CVS Health has agreed to pay $450,000 to the federal government to settle allegations that several of its Rhode Island retail pharmacies filled forged and invalid painkiller prescriptions.
The agreement announced Monday is the culmination of a two-year investigation by U.S. Attorney Peter Neronha’s office and the Drug Enforcement Administration. CVS has denied wrongdoing.
Alibaba buys stake in electronics stores B
hong kong» Alibaba will spend 28.3 billion yuan, or $4.6 billion, for a stake in Suning Commerce Group as China’s biggest e-commerce operator adds a network of electronics stores in its biggest deal ever.
Alibaba will buy a 19.99 percent stake in Suning, which in turn will spend as much as 14 billion yuan for shares in the e-commerce company.
