WESTMINSTE­R DOWNTOWN TO GET CINEMA

The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is the first business to commit to Westminste­r’s future downtown district.

The city said Tuesday that the Austin-based company will build a 40,000square-foot cinema at the western end of the 105-acre downtown site at U.S. 36 and Sheridan Boulevard.

The announceme­nt marks the first commitment to a project that has moved in fits and starts since the old Westminste­r Mall was demolished four years ago.

PorchLight acquires Dwell Denver.

Denverbase­d PorchLight Real Estate Group has acquired Dwell Denver.

With the addition of Dwell’s 20 agents, PorchLight has plans to expand, the company said in a news release. The deal closed July 31.

PorchLight, which last year brokered more than $517 million in residentia­l transactio­ns, up from $70 million in 2010, has offices in Capital Hill, Bonnie Brae, Cherry Creek and the Denver Tech Center serving metro Denver.

Burgers Inc. on Tuesday reported double-digit gains in its second-quarter income and revenue, and the Greenwood Villagebas­ed chain said it is on target to remodel 150 restaurant­s this year.

During the quarter that ended July 12, 2015, Red Robin reported a net income of $11.2 million, or 78 cents per diluted share, on revenue of $293 million. But the most recent quarter’s revenue fell short of the analyst consensus of $299.2 million.

Discount Tire recalls 79,000 truck, SUV tires

B detroit» The Discount Tire and America’s Tire chains are recalling nearly 80,000 light truck and SUV replacemen­t tires because the tread can separate. The recall affects certain Pathfinder tires made between August 2013 and May 2015. Affected tires weren’t sold after May 19. Discount Tire says there are no reports of deaths or injuries because of the defect.

Productivi­ty growth rebounds B

washington» U.S. productivi­ty rose at a moderate pace in the April-June quarter as growth picked up and hiring remained steady.

The Labor Department said Tuesday that worker productivi­ty increased at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.3 percent, up from a drop of 1.1 percent in the first quarter. The first quarter’s decline was revised sharply higher from a previous estimate of a 3.1 percent decline.

The second quarter rebound occurred mostly because the economy grew faster: It expanded at a 2.3 percent annual rate, compared with the first quarter’s 0.6 percent growth.

McDonald’s plans to shrink by 59 locations.

McDonald’s Corp. plans to shrink by 59 locations this year in the U.S. as the company cuts costs and tries to revive sales. The chain is closing 184 restaurant­s and opening 125 new ones in 2015, according to a franchise operations document filed with the Minnesota Department of Commerce last month.
