THOMPSON HELPS WARRIORS WIN WITHOUT CURRY

houston » Klay Thompson scored 38 points and Draymond Green had a triple- double as the Warriors overcame Stephen Curry’s absence to beat the Rockets 114- 110 on Thursday night.

Golden State was blown out by Dallas onWednesda­y night for just its second loss of the season when Curry missed his first game sinceMarch because of a sore left lower leg. But theWarrior­s were able to outlast the Rockets thanks to the big game by Thompson, who made six 3s.

Houston cut it to three on a jump shot by James Harden with about five minutes left before Golden State scored the next six points— highlighte­d by an alleyoop dunk from Andrew Bogut— to make it 111- 102.

Green contribute­d a careerhigh 16 assists and added 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Andre Drummond had 23 points and 18 rebounds and former Palmer High School star Reggie Jackson added 19 points and nine assists, leading the Pistons to a 115- 90 victory over the Timberwolv­es. Duncan to return. Tim Duncan will play Saturday when San Antonio hosts the Rockets after missing the previous three games. Duncan sat out the Spurs’ winMonday against Minnesota for rest, but he missed the next two home games because of soreness in his right knee.
