Memorial service set.
A celebration of the life of Jonathon “J.P.” Parker, a longtime Denver actor and staunch supporter of the arts, will be held Feb. 1. Parker died Dec. 19 at the Collier Hospice Center in Wheat Ridge. He was 87.
Parker established a lifelong career in theater, spanning more than 40 years, beginning at the Bonfils Theatre. He was the facilities manager at the University of Denver’s Newman Center for Performing Arts, and the Lamont School of Music. Parker was a manager and professor at the former Colorado Women’s College Houston Fine Arts Center. He was the first technical director of his daughter’s company — Cleo Parker Robinson Dance.
The celebration will be held at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 1 at the University of Denver, Newman Center, Gates Hall, 2344 E. Iliff Ave. in Denver.
