Friends and family of Denver newspaper reporter Penny Parker are invited to a memorial celebration of her life this week in Denver.

The event is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday at the EXDO Events Center at 1399 35th St. in Denver, according to a Facebook page in Parker’s honor.

Parker’s loved ones will share memories and excerpts of her columns over snacks and drinks, the post said.

While admission is free, donations to some of Parker’s most beloved charities — Sense of Security, the First Tee and Denver Dumb Friends League — are encouraged. People who plan to attend are also asked to make reservations.

Parker, 62, died in her Denver condominium Jan. 2.
