Man stabbed family, then hit by vehicles on I-25

A 30-yearold man who allegedly stabbed his wife, two sons and father-in-law Friday night in Cheyenne later was killed in a collision on Interstate 25 north of Fort Collins.

Officials said Randall Van Woerkom crashed into a field off I-25 Friday night, walked back onto the highway and was killed after several vehicles hit him.

Officers were told that Van Woerkom attacked his family after being accused of infidelity, according to The Associated Press. Police were dispatched to his home late Friday after receiving several hang-up 911 calls from the residence. Officers found four people, including the two boys, with multiple stab wounds from a knife.

Van Woerkom was driving southbound on I-25 near mile marker 283 north of Wellington when he drove over the median into the northbound lanes and rolled into a field, said Colorado State Patrol Trooper Alisha Danko. Van Woerkom was driving a white Dodge Journey.

He then walked back onto the highway, where he was hit several times by multiple vehicles, Danko said
