Who: Brian and Stacey Rathbun of Littleton, Stephanie Soderquist of Greenwood Village and Drew Gaynor of Tucson Where: Finger Rock Trailhead in Tucson. Finger Rock is a distinctiv­e rock formation in the Santa Catalina Mountains on the north side of Tucson. The trail travels through Saguaro cactus and juniper scrub on up to the rock formation. Great views of the Tucson area from that elevation. Best meal: El Charro claims to be the oldest continuous­ly operating familyowne­d Mexican restaurant in the United States. Try the Bandera Pablano Chile Relleno. Best deal: Free exhibit about the capture of John Dillinger at the Congress Hotel in downtown Tucson. Best time to go: October to April, when the daytime temperatur­e is not extreme. Best travel tip: Take lots of water and energy snacks on the hike. Walking sticks would be helpful for the return trip.
