HIKER’S BODY FOUND ATOP MT. HARVARD

The body of a Vermont hiker was found near the summit of Mount Harvard on Wednesday in the San Isabel National Forest.

The body of Eric A. Poehlman, 46, of Richmond, was taken off the mountain Thursday morning by helicopter, according to the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office.

Poehlman had been dropped off at a Mount Harvard trailhead at about 7 a.m. Wednesday, and family members were to pick him up at the same trailhead at 3 p.m. Wednesday. When Poehlman didn’t show up, family members called Chaffee County authoritie­s at 5 p.m. and reported him missing.

Juveniles arrested at Legacy High School; one allegedly said he was armed B

broomfield» Two male juveniles were arrested Thursday afternoon at Legacy High School.

One of the two is a student at the school, according to the Adams 12 School District.

The school, 2701 W. 136th Ave., was put on lockdown for a short period, said Sgt. Steve Griebel, police spokesman.

Police were called at about 3 p.m. by campus security on a report of two juveniles on campus who were playing loud music, smoking and using profanity, Griebel said.

When a school security officer contacted the pair, one allegedly threatened the officer, indicating that he was armed with a gun, Griebel said. That’s when school officials called police and put Legacy on lockdown.

When Broomfield police officers arrived, they took the pair into custody. No gun was found.

Couple arrested in woman’s killing, kids’ kidnapping B

pueblo» A California couple wanted in connection with a woman’s killing and the kidnapping of her three children in the Los Angeles area were arrested Thursday.

Joshua Aaron Robertson, 27, and Brittany Humphrey, 22, were arrested without incident in Pueblo, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff ’s Department.

The couple was wanted in connection with the death of Humphrey’s half-sister, Kimberly Harvill, whose body was found with gunshot wounds along a road in a remote area of Los Angeles County on Aug. 14.

Investigat­ors said the couple kidnapped Harvill’s three young children, who were found safe Wednesday in a motel on the outskirts of Albuquerqu­e.

Humphrey and Robertson were found after officers from the Pueblo Police Department were conducting an unrelated investigat­ion at a local motel.
