What about all the good cops?
“Across U.S., police officers abuse confidential databases,” Sept. 29 news story.
I am disturbed by the constant barrage of attacks on law enforcement. The Associated Press article about police abuse of databases is an example. Once again it is a small fraction of law enforcement who are violating the trust of their departments and the public, but the article makes it sound like an epidemic. When caught, these individuals are charged and often lose their jobs. The only solution implied by the article would be to take away law enforcement access to these databases, which would be a travesty and serve no one.
How about publishing some positive articles about the more than 90 percent of hard-working, loyal, trustworthy and dedicated officers we have across the country?
