Brewers RHP Wily Peralta (7-11, 5.10 ERA) at Rockies RHP Jeff Hoffman (0-4, 5.47), 6:10 p.m., ROOT

Peralta struggled so mightily during the first half of his fifth season with the Brewers that he was demoted to the minors on June 12. In nine starts since returning to Milwaukee on Aug. 9, Peralta is 3-4 with a 3.23 ERA. In six career games (five starts) against the Rockies, Peralta is 2-2 with a 5.58 ERA. Hoffman will get one more shot at his first victory as a late replacement for Tyler Anderson, who is being skipped because of what Rockies manager Walt Weiss called general arm soreness. Hoffman was moved to the bullpen Sept. 14 as the club sought to limit his innings.
