Getting festive for the holidays in Golden

-

through dec. 17. Dust off the ol’ nutcracker costume; it’ll be warm and festive for the Candlelight Walk in downtown Golden at6 p.m. on Friday. Starting from the Foothills Art Center, 809 15th St., and moving down Washington Avenue, holiday revelers will walk with a candle in hand and sing carols along Golden’s main stretch, eventually ending in front of the Golden Visitors Center for the lighting of the tree and Clear Creek. Then on Dec. 3, 10 and 17, the Olde Golden Christmas Parades are back, stepping off on Washington Avenue at 10:30 a.m. What other parade mixes horses, Santa in a sidecar motorcycle and elves on unicycles? Events are free and open to the public. — Sara Grant
