GIL­BERT NAMED ALL-AMER­I­CAN

boul­der» Univer­sity of Colorado line­backer Jim­mie Gil­bert was named to The Associated Press al­lAmer­ica team Mon­day.

Gil­bert, who was a thirdteam se­lec­tion, be­comes the first Buf­falo to be named an AP All-Amer­i­can since 2011.

Gil­bert this sea­son had 10½ sacks and 51 tack­les and forced six fum­bles. He tied for sec­ond among all Foot­ball Bowl Sub­di­vi­sion play­ers for the most forced fum­bles this sea­son.

Line­backer Ken­neth Olug­bode, who had 130 tack­les this sea­son, by CU’s count that uses coaches film, was a sec­ond-team All-Amer­ica se­lec­tion by Pro Foot­ball Fo­cus.

Kif­fin headed to FAU.

Alabama of­fen­sive co­or­di­na­tor Lane Kif­fin agreed to be­come Florida At­lantic’s next foot­ball coach.

Kif­fin had been in talks with the Con­fer­ence USA school since Fri­day. At one point, ne­go­ti­a­tions be­tween the two sides stalled, but a deal was struck early Mon­day morn­ing.

Kif­fin will re­main Alabama’s of­fen­sive co­or­di­na­tor through­out the Col­lege Foot­ball Play­off, Crim­son Tide head coach Nick Sa­ban con­firmed.
