LONGMONT MAN HITS TREE, DIES AT BRECKENRID­GE

A 48-year-old man died Monday in a skiing incident on an advanced trail at Breckenrid­ge.

The Longmont man, identified by the Boulder Daily Camera as Kevin Pitts, died from blunt-force trauma after striking a tree at the resort.

Pitts was taken off the mountain to St. Anthony Summit Medical Center in Breckenrid­ge where he was pronounced dead.

“Breckenrid­ge Ski Resort, Breckenrid­ge Ski Patrol and the entire Vail Resorts family extend our deepest sympathy and support to our guest’s family and friends,” John Buhler, vice president and chief operating officer of Breckenrid­ge Ski Resort, said in a media release.
