WARD ADDED TO CONCUSSION PROTOCOL

-

Broncos safety T.J. Ward missed practice Wednesday as he was a late addition to the concussion protocol.

Ward played all but two defensive snaps against the New England Patriots on Sunday. He also did postgame interviews, but coach Gary Kubiak explained that the symptoms came afterward.

“He came in after the game, wasn’t feeling good,” Kubiak said Wednesday. “He’s doing pretty good. He’s in the testing phase right now.”

If Ward is unable to clear the protocol by Sunday, rookies Will Parks and Justin Simmons will fill in.

Kubiak gave several of his veterans noninjury-related rest days Wednesday, including receivers Emmanuel Sanders, Demaryius Thomas, cornerbacks Chris Harris and Aqib Talib, outside linebacker Von Miller, safety Darian Stewart, center Matt Paradis and left offensive tackle Russell Okung.

Anderson update.
