The Show has plenty of stars

The Show, Colorado’s an­nual high school all-star bas­ket­ball show­case, will be held Satur­day with four games at the Au­raria Event Cen­ter at Metro State. CLASS 1A-3A TOP 20 GIRLS, 2:30 P.M. Blue Team: Her­itage Chris­tian se­nior Sarah McGin­ley (20.6 points per game) and Dayspring Chris­tian ju­nior Me­gan Roberts (23.5) pro­vide of­fen­sive fire­power, while Kit Car­son has three rep­re­sen­ta­tives in coach Sara Craw­ford, sopho­more Tess Hor­nung (14.6) and sopho­more Olivia Isen­bart (9.6). White Team: Olathe se­nior Mi­randa Pacheco (18.1) and Sar­gent se­nior Quiney Lester (18.6) are top of­fen­sive threats, with the Ster­ling duo of ju­nior Brooke Polenz (11.0) and se­nior Abbey Brower (9.8) also high­light­ing the ros­ter. CLASS 1A-3A TOP 20 BOYS, 4 P.M. Blue Team: Colorado Springs Chris­tian se­nior Justin Engesser (21.7 points per game, 9.4 re­bounds, Colorado Chris­tian) head­lines while DSST Sta­ple­ton se­nior Jor­dan Heien (14.0), Colorado Academy sopho­more Hunter Shkapich (20.0) and the Man­ual combo of se­nior Jerome Carter (17.6) and sopho­more Jae­don Bowles (23.5) are also key play­ers. White Team: Ster­ling ju­nior Bodie Hume (15.7) rep­re­sents the Class 3A state cham­pion Tigers while no­ta­bles such as Res­ur­rec­tion Chris­tian se­nior Tan­ner Ervin (27.0), Basalt se­nior Michael Glen (22.1) and Holly’s Yaniel Vi­dal (15.7) round out the star­ring cast. TOP 20 GIRLS, 5:30 P.M. Blue Team: The Cherry Creek tan­dem of fresh­man Jana Van Gyten­beek (14.8 points per game) and ju­nior Jaela Richard­son (9.3 points, 7.5 re­bounds) head­line, as does the Fairview tan­dem of Grace O’Neil (18.2, 8.0) and Ash­ley Panem (17.9). Pomona se­nior Ash­ley Mad­den (20.1, Mesa State), Love­land se­nior Ta­tum Rem­bao (24.2, Creighton) and Ralston Val­ley se­nior Ash­ley Van Sickle (15.9, Mon­tana State) also pro­vide guard depth. White Team: Monarch se­niors Pey­ton Carter (15.8, CU) and Jas­mine Jef­f­coat (13.7 points, 10.0 re­bounds, UMKC) are a re­li­able out­side-inside pres­ence, while Lake­wood ju­nior Camilla Emsbo (18.9, 8.7) and Regis Je­suit sopho­more Fran Belibi (15.7, 11.6) are sure to dom­i­nate the paint as well. And don’t miss the play of guards such as Lib­erty Com­mon’s Haily Mik­los (22.1, 11.1), a Cor­nell com­mit­ment and 3A player who’s play­ing up in the Top 20 game, as well as Hori­zon’s Kylie Jimenez (19.1, Port­land State) and High­land Ranch’s Tommi Olson (14.8). TOP 20 BOYS, 7 P.M. Blue Team: The Ge­orge Wash­ing­ton trio of se­nior Jer­vay Green (19.7, Western Ne­braska), Calvin Fugett (14.7) and Jon’il Fugett (16.3) are sure to shine, as is Thun­derRidge’s duo of se­nior Corey Seng (21.2) and ju­nior Kai­son Ham­monds (14.4). Plus, keep an eye on Fos­sil Ridge’s all-time lead­ing scorer Brax­ton Ber­to­lette (28.5, North Dakota), Pue­blo West se­nior stand­out David Si­men­tal (25.8), Golden ju­nior Adam Thistle­wood (18.9, 6.5) and Moun­tain Vista se­nior big man Jake Belk­napp (16.6, 9.0, North­ern Colorado). White Team: Elite guard play reigns supreme as Ea­gle­crest se­nior Col­bey Ross (18.4, Pep­per­dine), Rock Canyon ju­nior Sam Mas­ten (22.3), Den­ver East ju­nior Daylen Kountz (26.4), Chero­kee Trail se­nior Jaizec Lot­tie (20.3), Sierra se­nior CJ Jen­nings (21.2, West Texas A&M) and Smoky Hill sopho­more Kenny Fos­ter (17.1, 4.3 as­sists) give coach Kent Grams a loaded back­court. And down low, the likes of Smoky Hill ju­nior Will Becker (9.3, 11.5 re­bounds) and Grand­view se­nior Gaige Prim (17.1, 10.6) are forces on the boards.
