LIGHTNING ERASES THREE-GOAL DEFICIT, DEFEATS CHICAGO

tampa, fla.» Yanni Gourde had a breakaway goal 4:25 into overtime and the Lightning rallied from a three-goal deficit to beat the Blackhawks 5-4 on Monday.

Victor Hedman set up the winner with his third assist.

Tampa Bay, which trails Boston by a point for the second Eastern Conference wild-card playoff berth, got two goals from Jonathan Drouin. Ondrej Palat and Anton Stralman also scored. Andrei Vasilevski­y, who was pulled 14 minutes into the first after allowing three goals on eight shots, returned to start the second and finished with 25 saves.

Artemi Panarin, Patrick Kane, Tomas Jurco and Richard Panik scored for the Western Conference-leading Blackhawks. Scott Darling stopped 25 shots.

After the Blackhawks went up 4-1 midway through the second on Panik’s goal, Tampa Bay tied it 4-4 on Drouin’s goals and one by Stralman in a 4:39 span.

Brian Gionta scored while playing his 1,000th career game as the Sabres beat the Panthers 4-2. … Viktor Arvidsson scored early in the second period, Jusse Saros stopped 24 shots and the Predators held on to beat the Islanders 3-1. … Andreas Athanasiou crashed into Eddie Lack as he scored in overtime, giving the Red Wings a 4-3 victory over the Hurricanes. … Jaden Schwartz scored twice and Jake Allen made 21 saves to help the Blues beat the Coyotes 4-1.

Punch lands Haley a suspension. Sharks forward Micheal Haley has been suspended for one game without pay for punching Nashville forward Calle Jarnkrok. Haley was assessed a match penalty Saturday when he retaliated after being hit from behind into the boards by Jarnkrok. Haley chased Jarnkrok, sending him to the ice with a punch to the face. … The Bruins hope to have their No. 1 goaltender, Tuukka Rask, back in net when they begin a crucial threegame homestand Tuesday. Rask missed the last game because of a lower-body injury. … The Rangers agreed to a contract with free-agent forward Vinni Lettieri. The 22-year-old Lettieri had 19 goals and 18 assists in 38 games with the Minnesota Golden Gophers this season.
