What tomake of a hangin’ (around) Chad?

- Fred, Westminster Mark Kiszla: mkiszla@denverpost.com or @markkiszla

Chatting about Chad. What percentage chance do you give Broncos rookie quarterback Chad Kelly of: 1) making the team, 2) taking a single snap, and 3) starting a game? I think Kelly will make the team and the Broncos will trade either Trevor Siemian or Paxton Lynch.

Kevin,

Kiz: Might want to hold off a bit on trading Siemian or Lynch. From the final pick of the entire draft to starting quarterback for the Broncos in one year? If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Give Kelly time to recover from a knee injury and learn the intricacies of an NFL offense. Get back to me in 2018.

Holland days. I amso impressed with closer Greg Holland. He might be the best free-agent acquisition ever for the Rockies. Holland is giving signals that good pitchers can actually pitch well at Coors Field. Maybe it was bad pitchers pitching badly that gave the impression Denver is a pitcher’s nightmare.

Stan,

Kiz: The crack research team here at Kickin’ It Headquarters is working on this little theory. Our hypothesis: a 94-mph fastball that thumps in the catcher’s mitt for a called strike is minimally influenced by the effects of altitude.

Big on Nugs. Aw, Kiz. Did you have to call me a fool? I know what I am. I’ve not missed more than two Nuggets home games in the last 10 years. In my defense, I grew up a Cubs fan. They eventually won theworld Series! I’m 81 years old, however, so I will probably not live long enough to even see the Nuggets in the Western Conference finals.

Mimi,

Kiz: Keep hope alive. Here’s the way I’ve got it figured: James Harden went to Houston. Kevin Durant went to Golden State. Maybe there is one more NBA superstar Russellwestbrook could chase out of Oklahoma City and send to the Nuggets.

Sealed with a Kiz. Hey, man. My mom is a published author and writes screenplays. I love the craft. Story-telling, imagery and word play are my thing. Your writing is honestly among the best I have read in a long time. Amazing work.

Nathaniel,

Kiz: In the press box, the Broncos serve lunch. There is a signin log. Every visitor is required to give a name and description of the work done on game day. I always put down: typing. If a reader finds the words I type actually tell a worthwhile story, I consider that a bonus and a blessing.

No joshin’. And today’s parting shot urges new ownership for the Nuggets and Avalanche, estimated to be worth $1.2 billion. I’ve got a $10 bill inmy wallet and 47 cents in my pocket. How short does that leave us?

You people at The Denver Post have consistently called for new ownership of the Rockies, when they played like the Nuggets and Avalanche are now playing. Stan Kroenke seems as if he could not care less, as Josh Kroenke treats the teams as personal playthings, with no concern for results. So where is the call for new ownership?
