Leaks sometimes aid democracy
Continuous retorts from the White House complain vociferously about leaks and bombshell accusations from unnamed sources. In general, that’s bad, and yes, they should be called out. But there comes a point when leaks can save our democracy and give us a muchneeded course correction.
Recall Deep Throat, the source who was unnamed for decades but resulted in breaking the story about the Watergate scandal. Imagine where this country would be without that anonymous source. Are we now at such a time? Given the “more than circumstantial evidence” we have seen so far, my answer is a resounding yes. Bob Kropfli, Golden
