MAN SENTENCED IN FOLTZ FAMILY BURGLARY CASE

greeley, neb.» A South Dakota man has been imprisoned for stealing from a constructi­on site and burglarizi­ng the home of the late Sam Foltz’s brother when he was in Lincoln honoring the former Nebraska football player.

Online court records said Scott Davis, of Lennox, S.D., late Monday was sentenced to three to five years in Greeley County District Court. He had pleaded guilty to burglary and theft after prosecutor­s dropped two charges.

Authoritie­s said Davis broke into the home of Jordan Foltz on Sept. 3 as the Foltz family attended a memorial for Sam Foltz at the Huskers’ home opener.

Davis was arrested Sept. 4 on suspicion of drunken driving, and officers said they found items in his car believed to have been stolen from Jordan Foltz’s home.

Rams add Utah transfer Brady

The 6-foot-1 post player will be eligible to compete this coming fall for her junior season.

NASCAR makes schedule changes ●

charlotte, n.c.» NASCAR announced several changes to its 2018 schedule, including new tracks in the final 11 races of the season.

Indianapol­is Motor Speedway will become the 26th race of the Cup season and final chance to set the playoff field.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway will replace Chicagolan­d Speedway as the opening event in the 10-race playoff series. Chicago moves to a regularsea­son race in July.

Richmond Internatio­nal Raceway, which had been the playoff cutoff race since the format debuted in 2004, will move into the playoffs.

Charlotte Motor Speedway’s playoff race will now be run on the venue’s road course instead of its 1.5-mile oval.

The opening three-race playoff round will be Las Vegas-RichmondCh­arlotte. The next round will be Dover-Talladega-Kansas. The third round is Martinsvil­le-Texas-Phoenix, with the championsh­ip finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Nov. 18.

The season will open Feb. 18 with the Daytona 500.

Kvitova close to decision

● prague» Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova will decide this week whether she will make her comeback at the French Open. She hasn’t played since December, when she was attacked by a knife-wielding intruder.

• Maria Sharapova has been awarded a wild card for the Rogers Cup in August in her comeback from a 15month doping ban. Since her return, the former No. 1 player has used wild cards to play three events on the WTA Tour. She was denied a wild card for the French Open.

• Former champion Genie Bouchard withdrew from the Nuremberg Cup because of a right ankle injury sustained in training last week.

Nishikori heads to quarterfin­als

● geneva» Second-seeded Kei Nishikori of Japan eased into the Geneva Open quarterfin­als, beating Mikhail Kukushkin 6-4, 6-3.
