O.J. SIMPSON HAS PAROLE HEARING, MAY BE RELEASED OCT. 1

las vegas» Imprisoned former football star O.J. Simpson has a July 20 parole hearing that could have him released from a Nevada prison as early as Oct. 1, a state parole official said.

Simpson, who turns 70 on July 9, has served more than eight years of a nine- to 33-year sentence imposed after he was found guilty in 2008 of armed robbery, kidnapping and other charges stemming from a confrontat­ion with two sports memorabili­a dealers at a Las Vegas casino hotel in September 2007.

Simpson is due to appear by videoconfe­rence from Lovelock Correction­al Center, where he is being held, before a panel of four parole commission­ers sitting in Carson City, parole official David Smith said.

Sapp will donate his brain

● miami» Pro Football Hall of Famer Warren Sapp is donating his brain for medical research.

Sapp said on social media that his brain will go to the Concussion Legacy Foundation after his death.

The 44-year-old said in a statement he has started to feel the effects of the many hits he took during his 13-year NFL career. He said he’s specifical­ly become concerned about his memory.

Ronaldo summoned to court

● barcelona, spain» Cristiano Ronaldo has been summoned to appear before a Spanish judge, and Jose Mourinho could be next.

Ronaldo and Mourinho are the latest members of the soccer elite to be accused of tax fraud in Spain. Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano, among others, have already been convicted.

Ronaldo was told to appear in court on July 31, while Mourinho was accused by a state prosecutor of defrauding Spain’s Tax Office of $3.7 million.

CU football gets Texas Tech WR.

Receiver Tony Brown, who played the past two seasons at Texas Tech, announced on Twitter he will transfer to CU.

CU co-offensive coordinato­r and receivers coach Darrin Chiaverini recruited Brown to Texas Tech in 2015 and coached him that season with the Red Raiders. Brown’s head coach at La Mirada (Calif.) High School was former CU quarterbac­k Mike Moschetti.

In two seasons at Tech, Brown caught 27 passes for 378 yards and one touchdown. Brown is planning to enroll at CU in January and be a part of the 2018 recruiting class. He would have two years to play with the Buffs.

Wilson stripped of indoor record

● colorado springs» Ajee Wilson will have her American indoor 800meter record disqualifi­ed after the United States Anti-Doping Agency announced the middle-distance runner tested positive for a prohibited substance that was ingested “without fault or negligence.”
