Free-agent power forward Paul Millsap will meet with the Nuggets on Saturday, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.

Millsap has long been considered a free-agent target for the Nuggets, who are looking to upgrade their frontcourt alongside 22year-old center Nikola Jokic.

With Blake Griffin accepting a five-year, $175 million offer to remain with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to various reports, the 6-foot-8 Millsap is the biggest name on the market at the power forward spot.

Millsap, who is not expected to re-sign with Atlanta, where he was an allstar each of the past four seasons, is 32 and will be entering his 12th NBA season.

He is coming off careerhigh averages of 18.1 points and 3.7 assists per game. But his efficiency did dip slightly. His 44.2 shooting from the field was the worst of his career. Millsap, a second-round pick by Utah in 2006, played his first seven seasons with the Jazz.

Teams could officially start negotiating with free agents at 10:01 p.m. Mountain time Friday.

Deals can be agreed to at any time after that but can’t be officially signed until July 7.

Millsap is reported to have several interested suitors, including the Phoenix Suns, meaning it could take a max contract offer in order to land him. Such a contract could be in the neighborhood of $149 million over four years.

The Nuggets, as well as the San Antonio Spurs, also have expressed interest in free-agent point guard George Hill, according to The Tribune. Hill, one of the top point guards on the open market, averaged a career-high 16.9 points per game with Utah last season.
