Nuggets fall to 1-4 in sum­mer league with loss to Nets

The Nuggets dropped their fourth game in five tries in the NBA sum­mer league, los­ing Thurs­day to the Brook­lyn Nets 85-74 at the Thomas & Mack Cen­ter in Las Ve­gas.

Shoot­ing guard Ma­lik Beasley led the Nuggets in scor­ing with 20 points. He also grabbed seven re­bounds.

The Nets had con­trol of the game from the open­ing tip. They never trailed and led by 20 points with just un­der eight min­utes re­main­ing. Brook­lyn shot 45.3 per­cent from the field and held Den­ver to 32.1 per­cent shoot­ing for the game.

Isa­iah White­head paced Brook­lyn with 14 points, four as­sists and three re­bounds.

Beasley has led the Nuggets in scor­ing in all but one game in Las Ve­gas — Tor­rey Craig had 27 points and 11 re­bounds in Den­ver’s lone vic­tory, over Hous­ton.

The Nuggets have at least one more game Fri­day. The sched­ule is to be de­ter­mined.
