Mar­garet BLOCK PARTY: Brown’s birth­day

Mar­garet Brown — rags-toriches mil­lion­aire, pa­troness of the arts and Den­ver’s fa­vorite “un­sink­able” ma­tri­arch — will be cel­e­brat­ing her 150th birth­day with a neigh­bor­hood-wide block party of Ti­tanic size. Styled after Brown’s Car­ni­val of Na­tions, a 1906 event hon­or­ing the di­verse cul­tures land­ing in the Amer­i­can West, her 150th will take over Penn­syl­va­nia Street be­tween 13th and 14th. There will be food, mu­seum tours and booths ga­lore from the Den­ver Fire­fighter’s Mu­seum, Cen­tral City Opera, Em­pire Lyric Play­ers, Den­ver Trol­ley, the League of Women Vot­ers, Fi­esta Colorado, and the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame.
