Margaret BLOCK PARTY: Brown’s birthday

Margaret Brown — rags-toriches millionaire, patroness of the arts and Denver’s favorite “unsinkable” matriarch — will be celebrating her 150th birthday with a neighborhood-wide block party of Titanic size. Styled after Brown’s Carnival of Nations, a 1906 event honoring the diverse cultures landing in the American West, her 150th will take over Pennsylvania Street between 13th and 14th. There will be food, museum tours and booths galore from the Denver Firefighter’s Museum, Central City Opera, Empire Lyric Players, Denver Trolley, the League of Women Voters, Fiesta Colorado, and the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame.
