Nation’s top immigration cop says employers should worry about a crackdown. DALLAS»
The immigration crackdown supported by President Donald Trump will make employers its next target, the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement said.
“You are going to see a lot more work-site enforcement this year,” Thomas Homan said. “We will take action against those employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens.”
Homan said ICE was “firing up” work-site enforcement: “We need to take the magnet away.”
In 1986, federal law made it unlawful for employers to hire those in the U.S. without employment authorization.
