COLORADO MILLS PLANS TO REOPEN BY BLACK FRIDAY

- — Ethan Millman, The Denver Post

Colorado Mills, the Lakewood mall damaged by a hailstorm in May, said Wednesday that it plans to open common areas in the building before Black Friday after Thanksgiving, with many tenants back in business.

“Our goal is to have the common areas open, safe and functional before Black Friday and to have as many tenants open as possible,” the mall said in a statement.

“Finishes of common areas will be completed during evening hours extending into early 2018.”

The mall has previously said it hopes to fully reopen by the holiday shopping season.

While most of Colorado Mills has been closed since May, Super Target and UA Colorado Mills Stadium 16, two of its anchor tenants, went back in business within a week of the storm.

Mills brought Lakewood nearly $350,000 a month, and the closure was expected to cost the city $2.1 million over the six months the mall was closed.
