Buffs receive 72 points in early coaches’ poll
The University of Colorado and Colorado State football teams received votes in the preseason college football coaches poll that was revealed Thursday.
The Buffs, who finished last season with a 10-4 record and berths in the Pac12 Championship game and Alamo Bowl, received 72 points in the poll, placing them two spots behind No. 25 Utah (109 points). Sitting between CU and the Utes was Pac-12 North foe Washington State (99 points).
The Rams received one point, meaning one of the coaching pollsters voted them as the preseason No. 25 team in the country. CSU, which will enter its third season under coach Mike Bobo when the season kicks off at home Aug. 26 against Oregon State, went 7-6 in 2016 with an appearance in the Potato Bowl.
