Bartolo Colon threw his first complete game in two years to earn his first win with Minnesota in four starts, Brian Dozier homered twice and the Twins beat the Rangers 8-4. The 44-year-old Colon (3-9) scattered nine hits and allowed four earned runs for his 37th career complete game and first since Sept. 5, 2015 with the New York Mets. He struck out five and walked one for his first win in nine starts since May 15 with Atlanta. … Mitch Moreland homered with two outs in the 11th inning, lifting the Red Sox to a 3-2 victory over the White Sox. It was Boston’s second game-ending homer this week. … Daniel Murphy hit two home runs to back Tanner Roark, and the Nationals won the opener of a series between division leaders at Wrigley Field by beating the Cubs 4-2 on a chilly afternoon. … Trevor Bauer won his third straight start, Jaime Garcia was chased in the fifth inning of his Yankees debut and the Indians won 7-2 to extend New York’s losing streak to four. Verlander (7-7) struck out 10 and gave up two runs and six hits over seven innings.
