Some tickets going for $500

- By Kyle Fredrickson

Fans looking to snag a last-minute seat to the opening of Colorado State’s oncampus football stadium can expect to crack the bank a bit more than most everyone else in attendance Saturday.

With tickets sold out for CSU’s 12:36 p.m. kickoff against Oregon State — including 10,000 student seats — online secondary markets have posted markedup resale tickets for purchase with individual tickets going for as much as $500 apiece. The face value of a single-game general admission ticket is $77.

For the cheapest available seat, expect to sit in upper Section 214, near the far southeast corner of the bleachers just a few rows from the top. It’s not a premium field view, but it’s still a great spot to take in the beauty of the foothills, with individual tickets available for as low as $100 each on seatgeek.com.

You will need some more cash to sit in the lower bowl. To sit 19 rows behind the south end zone, tickets for a group of four at $155 apiece are available on StubHub.com. And in Section 140, in the northwest corner of the stands, a pair of tickets will cost you $231 on Ticketmaster.com. Got $305? That gets you five rows up in Section 130 on Ticketcity.com.

If cost isn’t an issue, and proximity to the field is important, you’re in luck. The most expensive tickets, according to a search through several online secondary market resellers, are $500 apiece for a pair ($1,000 total) of front-row seats in the west stands at about the 20-yard line behind the home team’s bench. For tickets closer to the 50-yard line, this time 14 rows up, expect to pay $472 apiece on ticketcity.com.
