ART OF THE DEAL

There’s a good reason the Affordable Arts Festival is called the Black Friday of art sales. Every piece of art is priced at $100 or less. Bargain hunters line up early for the outdoor event on Aug. 27

Eat Arapahoe Community College (5900 S. Santa Fe Drive, Littleton). More than 150 Colorado and national artists sell their works in a variety of mediums, from watercolors and glass to sculpture and jewelry. Don’t let the low prices fool you. This is fine art, not junk, with some pieces originally priced at $2,000 or more. Gates open at 9 a.m., but for the best deals we suggest arriving well before. Live music starts at 7 a.m., with a coffee cart for early patrons. Admission is $10; children 12 and under free. affordableartsfestival.com

With more than 15 fruit and cream pies on the menu, you’re sure to find one to satisfy your sweet tooth, including this month’s featured pie, Peach Lattice. villageinn.com
